FIRST THE TUSKERS NOW THE HUSKERS
Yorktown Huskers @ Rye Garnets @ Mahopac High School @7:30PM Kickoff
Its a-maize-ing the Garnets have rarely met the YORKTOWN cornHUSKERS in the corn crib. The Green and White never germinated during Rye’s many planting seasons until 2015. But what a bumper crop of games have been harvested by farmers from both sides of the field ever since. In seven plantings since 2015, with most contests in the Class A playoffs its Rye 4-3-0 (.571).
If Garnet head farmer Dino Garr checks his 2016 “Farmer’s Almanac” he will find an entry on the page of “Most Points Scored on Rye” . . . . . ever. The number was 66, an outcome you won’t see Friday night. Elephants (Tuskers) don’t forget and neither do Garnets.
Mortgage the farmhouse, sell the tractors, it’s a barnburner on the frozen tundra of Mahopac High. With frost on the pumpkin the Old Garnet says rye harvests corn and its Garnets plowing the Huskers 27-22. You can put all your corn on it!
