Nursery Field Public Meetings to be Held Thursday Evening & Saturday Morning
Meeting info from the city:
The City Council will conduct two public meetings in City Hall regarding potential improvements to Nursery Field located at 421 Milton Road, Rye, New York.
The first meeting will be a work session held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 6:30 PM. The second meeting will be workshop held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 9:00 AM. Both meetings will be held in Rye City Hall and will be recorded and posted to the City’s website for the public to view.
The first the meeting on Thursday is a City Council work session and will include staff and consultant presentations intended to give decision-makers and the public information for consideration as to potential improvements to Nursery Field that correct existing deficiencies and improve or enhance playability. Those improvements include a range of options including possible changes to the existing grass surface or installing a new artificial turf field. There is a lot of information to present so the first meeting would be limited to comments and questions from the City Council and members of the City Recreation Commission and Planning Commission.
The City Council is holding a second workshop on Saturday morning, which is devoted to giving the public the opportunity to ask questions of staff or the consultants. Information and documents referenced at the meeting will be posted on the City’s website at www.ryeny.gov for public review.
It is not expected that all of the questions will be answered at the conclusion of the Council’s two day session. The purpose of the public meetings is to present additional information regarding possible options and to continue the community dialogue regarding potential improvements to Nursery Field. We look forward to your participation.
