148 COVID-19 Positive in Rye; 1,031 Westchester Resident Deaths – Thursday, April 30, 2020

Westchester County is reporting 148 COVID-19 positive cases in Rye as of Thursday, April 30, 2020.
During his daily briefing, Rye guy and county boss George Latimer appeared from the board of trustees room in the Village of Pleasantville municipal building where was was delivering masks earlier in the day. The county will open two more golf courses (in Yonkers) this weekend, as well as opening the Bronx River for bicycling on Sunday.
When asked about the potential for opening Rye Playland, Latimer said “it is a completely different experience… much, much harder to insure social distancing.” June would be the earliest for a Playland opening but Latimer said it is “a difficult facility to open.”
Just like everyone else, Latimer is looking at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic. The COVID-19 numbers:

- Fatalities at Westchester nursing homes – note reporting is only available for certain individual nursing & care facilities – State is not showing any reporting on Rye facilities (nothing on The Osborn home, Rye Manor or Vienna Senior Housing)
- Fatalities in Westchester: 1,144
- Numbers of persons tested: 92,829
- Tested positive: 28,970
- % Positive results: 31.2%
- Persons tested today: 1,842
- New positives today: 344
