Otis To Receive Conservation Group Endorsement Wednesday

At a “socially distant” press conference planned for Wednesday, May 20th on the Rye Playland boardwalk, State Assemblyman Steve Otis will pick-up an endorsement from the New York League of Conservation Voters. Julie Tighe, President of the NYLCV, is expected to appear with Otis.

Otis is facing the chair of the Rye City Democratic Committee Meg Cameron in the June 23rd Democratic primary race.

By the way, everyone is eligible to receive an absentee ballot.

The announcement from the campaign follows:

NYLCV is the only nonpartisan, statewide environmental organization in New York that fights for clean water, clean air, renewable energy, and open space through political action.

Assemblyman Steve Otis (D-WFP-IND, Rye) has represented the 91st Assembly District since 2013. Assemblyman Otis helped initiate the Water Infrastructure Improvement Act of 2015, which provides clean water grants to municipalities across the state. WIIA has provided almost $1.2 billion in grants since it was created including $45.5 million in grants to Westchester projects. Otis brings a long record of involvement in environmental issues to his work in the State Assembly.
