Rye High Senior Offering Virtual Basketball Clinics Raises Money for COVID Front-liners
Rye High School Senior and basketball point guard Rafael Velasquez landed some TV time for his “Handles from Home” virtual basketball clinics. Velasquez is donating the clinic fees to Coronavirus front-liners.
The pandemic “ended my senior year and my basketball year,” Velasquez told WNBC-TV. The Rye team was headed to regional finals when the pandemic served everyone a curve-ball. Velasquez is making lemonade from lemons and starts a second round of his virtual clinics on Tuesday, May 5th. The clinics are available for 3rd thru 8th graders and a series of four virtual clinics costs $40. Contact [email protected] for more information.
