For Monday, Westchester reported the following City of Rye numbers:

207 total COVID-19 cases since inception;
5 active COVID-19 cases (this assumes the remaining 202 have run the average two week contagion cycle and are no longer active);
3 new COVID-19 cases

Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer held his COVID-19 briefing from New Castle Town Hall in Chappaqua. He appeared with Health Commissioner Dr. Sherlita Amler. The two addressed the recent COVID-19 outbreak in the wake of a June 20 drive-in graduation ceremony for Horace Greeley High School using the incident as a cautionary tale.

Amler explained the tracing procedure where her department calls every positive COVID-19 individual. With the Chappaqua graduation event, 14 attendees with a connection to the event have tested positive. “This particular event happened in Chappaqua – it could of happened anywhere,” said Latimer. “The mask and the social distance are essential everywhere.”

Just like everyone else, Latimer is looking at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic and at the NY State regional  monitoring dashboard to see our progress towards continued reopening.

Important to note expanded reporting now shows fatality data from all nursing homes in the State, including The Osborn in Rye.
