For Tuesday, Westchester reported the following City of Rye numbers:

207 total COVID-19 cases since inception;
4 active COVID-19 cases (this assumes the remaining 203 have run the average two week contagion cycle and are no longer active);
0 new COVID-19 cases

Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer held his COVID-19 briefing from the Michaelian Office Building in White Plains. He appeared with North Salem Town Supervisor Warren Lucas.

With the health of residents and visitors on the top of everyone’s mind amid the COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with the difficulties of social distancing and sanitizing in a crowded park, Latimer has announced that the amusement park at Playland Park in Rye will remain closed for the 2020 season. Please see our story on the Playland closure from earlier Tuesday.

Playland’s beach remains open to Westchester residents, Tuesdays through Sundays.

Just like everyone else, Latimer is looking at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic and at the NY State regional  monitoring dashboard to see our progress towards continued reopening.
