Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets and Double-crested Cormorants at the Marshlands Conservancy

One of our favorite places in Rye is the Marshlands Conservancy park, just off the Boston Post Road. COVID-19 has not done anything to stop all the activity in the Marshlands through the spring migration period.

From June 3rd, here is an excellent example of niche partitioning with great egrets, snowy egrets and double-crested cormorants each fishing in the shallow water using complimentary, non-competitive methods.

We’ll run some of our favorite photos and videos over the next few days. If you are a local Rye birding photographer, please get in touch with us.
