For Wednesday, Westchester reported the following City of Rye numbers:

207 total COVID-19 cases since inception;
4 active COVID-19 cases (this assumes the remaining 203 have run the average two week contagion cycle and are no longer active);
0 new COVID-19 cases

Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer held his COVID-19 briefing from the Michaelian Office Building in White Plains. Latimer spoke extensively about an in-year budget gap due to COVID-19 impacts that is projected to be as high as $250 million from shortfalls on sales tax, hotel occupancy tax and other revenues for Fiscal Year 2020 .

Latimer proposed the Voluntary Separation Program. The program will allow Westchester County employees to voluntarily leave County service in exchange of a $1,000 payment for every year of service to the County. The move will amount to one to two million dollars in savings in 2020, and will save the County six to ten million dollars in 2021.

The photos below show the budget slides Latimer reviewed during the briefing:

Just like everyone else, Latimer is looking at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic and at the NY State regional  monitoring dashboard to see our progress towards continued reopening.
