Suicide at Courtyard Marriott Sunday

There was a suicide at the Rye Courtyard Marriott on Sunday, July 12, 2020.

The Rye Police Department confirmed the incident to MyRye.com Wednesday afternoon but said no further details would be released. The local general manager of the hotel also declined to provide further details.

The dispatch log from the police department shows the initial call at 3:01pm. It further notes “possible doa at marriot room 219”. At 5:06pm, two hours later, the dispatch log shows “cleared from marriott report to follow”.

The Courtyard Marriott is at 631 Midland Avenue in Rye, on the border with Port Chester, near the I-95 on-ramp and the Home Depot store.
