24 Year Old Rye Resident Arrested for Criminal Trespass

On Thursday afternoon, April 10, 2025, Rye PD arrested a 24 year old Rye resident for criminal trespass.
At approximately 1:15pm Thursday, officers responded to a multi family residence on Purchase Street in Rye on a trespass complaint. An investigation determined local resident Luigi F. Mejabarahona, age 24, entered an apartment several times while a 15 year old female was home alone.
The minor confronted Mejabarahona and he left the apartment. Officers arrived on scene interviewed the minor in the presence of her mother and placed Mejabarahona under arrest for Criminal Trespass 2nd. Criminal Trespass in the second degree is a class A Misdemeanor.
Mejabarahona was transported to Rye Police headquarters for processing. He was arraigned in Rye Court and released on his own recognizance with an order of protection protecting the minor. Mejabarahona is due back in Rye City Court on Tuesday April 15, 2025 at 9:00am. Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
