Boys Varsity Soccer Ties at Pelham
On Thursday, Boys Varsity Soccer moved their season to 3 wins, one tie and no losses, with a 0-0 tie at Pelham.
“Our team was organized and committed and I give the guys a ton of credit for their continued determination to not allow a goal,” said Coach Jared Small. “Amar Jaswal added strong defensive presence on the wing as the match wore on, Ian Koford and Michael Desmond again proved to be a fantastic duo in the center of the midfield, and Philip Hovers recorded his fourth consecutive shutout with the help of strong team defending. We had two excellent opportunities to win the match towards the end of double overtime, but a draw was probably a just result for both teams.”
Rye did a nice job defending Pelham’s onslaught of set pieces, particularly their long thrown-ins which are particularly dangerous on a narrow field like Glover Field in Pelham.
