For Monday, Westchester reported a one new COVID case in Rye. Here are all the City of Rye numbers:
273 total COVID-19 cases since inception;
27 active COVID-19 cases (this assumes the remaining 246 have run the average two week contagion cycle and are no longer active);
1 new COVID-19 case.
Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer held his weekly COVID-19 briefing on Monday from the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He was joined by New York State Senator Pete Harckham to distribute AMBU-Stat Surface Decontamination Systems to local volunteer ambulance corps. The systems allow the interior of an ambulance to be completely decontaminated between runs.
Latimer said the county continues to assess (not shut down) risks related to youth sports programs (the CDC offers a “toolkit” for youth sports). He also said the usual trick or treating was “not workable” (the CDC also offers Halloween guidance).
Just like everyone else, county executives look at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic and at the NY State regional monitoring dashboard to see our progress towards continued reopening.
Important to note expanded reporting now shows fatality data from all nursing homes in the State, including The Osborn in Rye.
