Trick Or Treat But Always Six Feet!

Halloween Purchase Street

Halloween is upon us, and the City of Rye is recommending alternatives to the typical festivities.

“Regular trick or treating is high risk,” said Rye Mayor Josh Cohn is an email missive this week. “So we are not doing that, right? Instead, we can do as both CDC and County recommend and, with your cleanest clean hands, make up bags of individually-wrapped treats and arrange them on a table or your front steps, or some place where kids can take them without having to reach into a bowl or basket.”

From 1pm – 3pm Saturday on Purchase Street in downtown Rye, participating businesses will prepare bags of individually wrapped goodies for trick-or-treaters, and they’ll line up bags on a table (outside only) for easy grab & go. Everyone is required to wear a mask. Be sure to checkout the pumpkins on display over at The Square House.
