George Latimer COVID-19 briefing January 19, 2021 - 2

Remember that Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer moved his COVID-19 briefings from daily to now twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays (Today, he held is briefing on a Tuesday due to yesterday being the Martin Luther King holiday). So no briefing on the other weekdays, but we do expect to continue to post daily COVID-19 counts for Rye and Westchester County for the foreseeable future.

During his briefing Tuesday, Latimer discussed the COVID infection rates and the distribution of vaccines. Speaking about the two County vaccination sites, the County Center and the smaller County health clinic, he said “We hope to hit the 10,000 mark in vaccinations by the end of the week.”

For Tuesday, January 19, 2021, Westchester reported the following City of Rye numbers via the County COVID dashboard.

886 total COVID-19 cases since inception;
147 active COVID-19 cases (this assumes the remaining 739 have run the average two week contagion cycle and are no longer active);
