COVID Vaccine Reaches The Osborn, Light at the End of the Pandemic Tunnel
When MyRye.com contacted The Osborn Monday afternoon, its first COVID vaccination clinic was in full swing. The retirement community vaccinated 160 residents and staff from its Pavilion skilled nursing center. The group (nursing home residents and staff) has been prioritized by New York State for this round of vaccinations.
Most readers probably know the current Pfizer and Modera vaccines require two doses. The follow up dose for Monday’s group will be administrated on Monday, January 25th. The Osborn received the Pfizer vaccine.
The Osborn, with a number of different levels of care for its residents, is waiting to hear vaccination dates for its assisted living program residents and staff, the next group to be vaccinated. They have not been provided details on when independent living residents will be vaccinated.
“Today is a monumental day in the fight against COVID-19,” Matt Anderson, president & CEO of The Osborn told MyRye.com. “We are fortunate that the first group of residents and staff here at The Osborn has been vaccinated. It has been a very long nine months and we look forward to the day all of our staff and residents can be vaccinated and the COVID-19 pandemic is behind us.”
