Multi Car Pile-up on I-95 in Rye
New York State Police reports there was a multi-vehicle personal injury crash involving at least 14 vehicles along I-95 Wednesday morning. The accident was in the southbound lane at mile marker 14.1 between Exits 22 and 21.
The accident has been cleared. “Contributing factor for the crash was icy road conditions in that area,” New York State Police Trooper Tara L. McCormick told MyRye.com. “Two people were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. It remains under investigation at this time.”
WNBC-TV and WPIX-TV both had helicopters over the scene. Reports reference flooding related to the extensive road construction as factors in the accident.
