5 New, 52 Active, 1,160 Total COVID-19 Positives in Rye; 2,139 Deaths in Westchester – Thursday, March 11, 2021
Remember that Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer moved his COVID-19 briefings from daily to now twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. So no briefing on the other weekdays, but we do expect to continue to post daily COVID-19 counts for Rye and Westchester County for the foreseeable future.
Latimer and his team provided various updates, including a vaccine update from County Health Commissioner Dr. Sherlita Amler – the county is now receiving doses from Pfizer, Moderna and J&J to distribute.
“We are undergoing a test, now we are in the 13th month of that test,” said Latimer. “It is a test of our intellect, it is a test of our perseverance… we are going to meet this challenge and we are going to defeat it.”
For Thursday, March 11, 2021, Westchester reported the following City of Rye numbers via the County COVID dashboard.
1,160 total COVID-19 cases since inception;
52 active COVID-19 cases (this assumes the remaining 1,108 have run the average two week contagion cycle and are no longer active);
5 new COVID-19 cases

Fatalities at Westchester nursing homes – The Osborn Home in Rye is reporting eight (8) confirmed COVID-19 nursing home deaths, two (2) COVID Confirmed Out of Facility Deaths of NH Residents (Hospital-Other), six (6) presumed COVID-19 nursing home deaths and one (1) COVID Confirmed Deaths at ALF (assisted living facility) and four (4) COVID Confirmed Out of Facility Deaths of ALF Residents (Hospital-Other) thru March 9th.
