Boys Varsity Hockey Freezes Carmel on Senior Night
Rye Boys Varsity Hockey froze out Carmel on Sunday during its senior night celebration.
The team dominated Carmel 10-1 at the away game, moving its season to 2-4 with back-to-back victories. “Rye was dominant on senior night jumping out to an early 3-0 lead and cruising from there,” said Rye Boys Varsity Hockey Coach Peter Thomas. “Rye honored its six seniors, Paul and Peter Angelastro, Tyler Brooks, Liam Hurley, Liam Lavelle, and Trace Sculti.”
Other game highlights in scoring: Drew DellaSalla-3 G, 3 A; Liam Hurley-1 G, 1 A; Paul Angelastro 1 G, 1 A; Trace Sculti-1 G, 1 A; Sam Askin-1 G, 1 A; Brendan O’Byrne, Reece Dorfman, and Jackson Leahy (1st Varsity Goal) each had a goal. While Aidan Cunningham had 2 A; Lucas Tsuchida, Liam Lavelle, Brian Curran, Tyler Brooks had 1 A each.
In goal for the Garnets, Anabelle Thomas stopped 20 of 21 shots for the win.
