Rye Girls Varsity Volleyball fell to Eastchester on Thursday, swept in the away game in three sets.
“Despite some excellent offensive and defensive plays, we lost to Eastchester today,” Rye Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach Geri Jones. “Mara Ball led with 9 kills and 11 digs. Natasha Meyer led the defense with 12 digs. Dylan Deertz followed with 9 digs. Julie Halasz had 5 kills, 8 digs. Maddie Slattery led the offense with 14 assists. This was a team we could have beaten, if we had been able to be more consistent and string some rallies together.”
The team did beat Eastchester in an earlier match-up last week. The team’s season moves to 3-4.
