TRAFFIC: Boston Post Road Bridge Across I-95 Will Close for Summer
The New York State Thruway Authority will be closing the Boston Post Bridge in Rye, between Cedar Street and the entrance ramp to I-287 West. That easy trip for so many to Whole Foods and downtown Port Chester will be a traffic mess for the summer.
The bridge will be closed beginning Tuesday, July 6th and is expected to remain closed until September 1st. The City expects heavy delays throughout the area including the downtown, the I-287 ramp, Midland Ave, Cedar Street, Purdy Ave and Peck Ave.
The traffic in and around I-95 the last few years has almost all been due to The Last Mile project.
The City encourages residents to avoid the area to the extent possible and take alternate routes as posted. Please direct you questions to the New York State Thruway Authority (and not City Hall): 1-800-847-8929.
