On Saturday, Rye Boys Varsity Football sent Clarkstown North back across the river in defeat. The Garnets booked win number two, 28-12.

With flooded damage mitigation underway at Nugent Field, the Garnets were able to use Port Chester High School and still host a “home game”. Caden Whaling had three touchdown runs and Owen Kovacs connected to Ryan Surhoff for the fourth touchdown.

“We had a great day. Our offensive line did a great job,” said Rye Boys Varsity Football Coach Dino Garr. “Alex Tepedino did a great job blocking. Caden had a great day offensively. Ryan had a great game on defense along with Jack Barnett and a person that had a great game was Carter Barford.”

The Rye Cheerleading team cheered the boys to another win. “Although it wasn’t the first home game that we all expected, it was still an amazing experience to have the stands filled with Rye fans again,” said Rye Girls Varsity Cheerleading Coach Melissa Marsden. “We had some new faces on the sideline today as we welcome freshmen Ava and Jaclyn. They did great and we are so proud of them.”
