Varsity Field Hockey Zeroes Somers in Second Win

Rye Girls Varsity Field Hockey zeroed Somers on Saturday, banking back-to-back wins for a 2-0 season start.

“Today we started out flat and too upright,” said Rye Girls Varsity Field Coach Kelly Vegliante. “It took a quarter to settle into our rhythm but after that the team just took off. Our passing clicked. They read the defense and moved them around. They worked the Somers goalie. We have so much more to work on but to be connecting like they are so early is a plus. These girls work hard and I have so much respect for them as athletes.”

The team hosts Pearl River on Tuesday at 4:30pm. Watch it.
