Rye Boys Varsity Soccer was pushed down by Byram Hills on Saturday, losing 3-0 at home.

“Kyan Cox made an outstanding save on a PK in the 70th minute to provide a huge moment and lift for the team,” said Rye Boys Varsity Soccer Coach Jared Small. “Tommy Dore led the attacking effort throughout the evening and Ryan Wyckoff stood out in the middle of the park. Overall, the spirit and energy were fantastic and the result didn’t fully reflect the team’s performance.”

The team played in honor of all those past, present, and future whose lives are affected by breast cancer and all forms of cancer. Specifically, the team played in honor of Soul Ryeders, a Rye-based organization that provides personalized resources, innovative programs and community support to anyone in the New York Tri-State area impacted by any type of cancer. The team would like to extend an additional thank you to the Miller Family, whose vision for the pink kits has helped to further support the fight against cancer.

At halftime, the team welcomed members of the 2013 Rye Youth Soccer travel program as they participated in the halftime game. Thanks to the players from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham for joining the festivities.

The team’s record shifts to 6-5-2. Watch the replay from Saturday. Boys soccer plays again on Tuesday at 4:30pm vs. Ardsley. Watch the game stream live.
