Richard H. Kingan

Richard H. Kingan was born to Agatha and John Kingan on February 23, 1931. He grew up with three siblings, John Kingan, Alice M. Smith, and Barbara Boyd. Richard grew up attending Harrison High School. He was a member of the Current Problems Club and the Spanish Club, played badminton and baseball, and was a member of the Student Council. During the Korean War, Richard served in the U.S. Marine Corps – 2nd Platoon, Company E, 2nd Battalion, 7th Regiment, 1st Marine Division. He unfortunately passed away on June 16, 2011, and is remembered through his 3 children: Kent, Steve, and Richard Kingan.

Richard H. (Dick) Kingan, 80, of Moneta, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011. Born in New York City on February 23, 1931, he was the son of the late John and Agatha Kingan. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Alice M. Smith. Raised in Rye, N.Y.

Dick was a graduate of Clarkson College in Potsdam, N.Y. and also the engineering program from Trane Corporation in LaCross, Wisc. He was employed as a sales engineer for Trane Corporation, American Standard and Burnham Corporation. Dick proudly served this country in the Marine Corps. He was awarded a Purple Heart for the wounds he received during his service in the Korean War.

Dick is survived by his wife of 54 years, June Jordan Kingan; three sons, Steve Kingan, of St. Louis, Mo., Richard H. Kingan Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Sarasota, Fla., Kent Kingan and wife, Jean, of Malvern, Pa.; six grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew, Brian, Richard W., Kristy, and Erin Kingan; a sister, Barbara Boyd, of Wilton, Conn.; a brother, John Kingan and wife, Barbara, of Conway, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
