Rye Boys Varsity Hockey iced Clarence in a 5-3 win Monday, delivering Coach Peter Thomas his 100th career win. Garnet hockey has an ice tray full of wins for the season. Its record now stands at 7-0-1.

“Goaltender Anabelle Thomas stood tall making some key saves,” said Coach Thomas. “Jackson Leahy and Lukas Elovaara set the tone on defense while Dempsey Brown and Tommy Greenhaw were important contributors on the penalty kill.”

“It is an exciting milestone to reach 100 wins,” said Thomas on his milestone. “I am really happy that I earned #100 with this team because it is such a special group. This team and my coaching staff have done a great job, especially Tom Bailey who has been with me the whole time and earned each of these wins with me.”

Thomas became a head coach during the 2013-2014 season at Ryetown (Harrison, Rye Brook, Rye Neck) before joining the Rye program as head coach in 2014-2015.

Other highlights from Monday’s win:

  • Tommy Greenhaw had 3 assists
  • Carter Barford had 2 assists
