Boys Varsity Hockey Falls to John Jay in Semis

Rye Boys Varsity Hockey fell to John Jay in its Section 1 Semifinal game 1-3 played at Playland Ice Casino last Thursday.

“We came out a little flat in this game and John Jay scored a fortunate goal that deflected off one of our defenseman’s skates which put us in a hole early,” said Rye Boys Varsity Hockey Coach Peter Thomas. “We battled to the end but unfortunately, it was too little too late. I’m really sad for our seniors who are a terrific group. I really wanted them to keep playing.”

The game was the end of a fantastic Garnet season with a 17-4-1 record.
