Rye Girls Varsity Squash topped Rye Country Day School on Tuesday 4-3.

“The match came down to the #7 spot and freshmen Taylor Bainbridge gutted out the 5th game 11-6 to win 3-2 and secure the final point in the 4-3 team win,” said Rye Girls Varsity Squash Coach Tony Campbell. “Impressively Taylor remains unbeaten in her 8 individual matches this season. She loves to compete.”

“Every girl played really well on both sides as the teams are very evenly matched throughout the lineups,” continued Campbell. “Rye also won in straight games at #1 with freshmen phenom Ella Erickson and at the #3 and #5 matches with junior’s Despina Sfiris and Charlotte Langer. It’s a great to see the girls playing so well at this point in the season as they approach the high school nationals tournament.”

The team’s record stands at 6-2. They play the in the Fairwest League Tournament this Saturday.
