Andrew Wood was sworn in as a City of Rye firefighter on Friday morning at Rye City Hall.
The son of Kathy and Retired Rye Police Officer John Wood, Firefighter Wood is the 4th generation of Woods serving in public safety for Rye.
Andrew is a graduate of Rye High School class of 2009 and attended the University of Alabama. Mr. Wood is currently employed by Empress Medical Services in Yonkers as a paramedic and will begin training at the Career Firefighter Academy on March 15, 2022.
