Overnight Road Closures on I-287 & I-95 – Expect Delays
The New York State Thruway Authority announced Wednesday that ramps on both the eastbound and westbound Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287) to the southbound New England Thruway (I-95) in Rye will close overnight on multiple nights for roadway repairs. The ramps are scheduled to close from 10 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the following day on Thursday, June 9, and Friday, June 10, and then again on Monday, June 13, and Tuesday, June 14.
On eastbound I-287, the exit 12 ramp (New York – I-95 South) will close as will the westbound I-287 ramp to southbound I-95. The nearby ramp to southbound I-95 from Boston Post Road (Route 1) also will close.
Motorists on eastbound I-287 should follow the posted detour to northbound I-95 Exit 2 in Connecticut, approximately two miles away. Alternatively, passenger vehicles may wish to take exit 9 to the Hutchinson River Parkway to access I-95 in the Bronx.
Variable Message Signs will be activated ahead of the work zone to alert motorists of the closures and detours.
All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
