Playland Debuts New Ride Today
Playland Park will debut a new ride, called The Old Rye Motorbike Factory, to guests on Friday. The interactive ride is the first of its kind in North America according the the Park, putting guests in their own vintage Italian motorbike and letting them throttle the accelerator to control their thrill levels.
The nearly $3 million ride challenges guests to throttle the accelerator on their motorbikes to enhance the experience with high flying kicks. Each motorbike has an accompanying sidecar that permits those 36″ and above, allowing the whole family to get in on the fun.
“We are always looking to improve our offerings and bring the best attractions to our guests that they won’t be able to find anywhere else in the area. The Old Rye Motorbike Factory is a completely new ride to Playland that the entire family can enjoy,” said Ernest Blundell, general manager of Playland. “We look forward to presenting this world-class installation of what the new standard of fun and excitement is at Playland. The Old Rye Motorbike Factory will be a hit for a long time to come.”
This season, the first year under the direction of Standard Amusements, Playland has debuted new rides, Midway games and an updated arcade as part of a multi-year renovation plan. The park hosts weekly fireworks each Friday beginning at 9:15 p.m. and has a full slate of entertainment options for the whole family throughout the week.
Playland will be open daily until September 7 and weekends only from September 9 through September 25.
