Rye Girls Varsity Soccer removed the luster from Pearl River on Tuesday, taking the win at home 3-1.

“Rye played against a very physical, hard playing Pearl River,” said Rye Girls Varsity Soccer  Coach Rich Savage. “Rye used their passing skills and speed to help create scoring opportunities.”

Rye’s Maddy Walsh finished the game with two goals. Isabel Harvey added a goal for Rye as well. Bowyn Brown and Reese Lejuez added an assist. Freshman keeper Tessa Labowitz made some key saves for Rye, while defenders Ali Koford, Sage Ruttenberg, Claire Nemsick and Despini Sfiris were solid in shutting down Pearl Rover’s attack.

Rye will host Albertus Magnus, a team that is ranked top in New York State, this Saturday 11:00am at Rye High School turf field – watch it.
