Girls Varsity Soccer Send the Eagles Migrating
Rye Girls Varsity Soccer sent the Eastchester Eagles migrating for better hunting grounds on Monday. The Garnets roosted with the win 5-0 at a cold and rainy Nugent Stadium.
“Although it was cold and rainy, Rye was able to find the back of the net five times in their 5 – 0 win over Eastchester,” said Rye Girls Varsity Soccer Coach Rich Savage.
Mali White opened up the scoring with a perfect pass from Bowyn Brown. Maddy Walsh had a perfect penalty kick to give Rye a 2 – 0 lead going into half time. At the start of the second half, Rye’s Lyla Keenan and Maddy Walsh would each add a goal three minutes into the half.
Claire Nemsick and Sofia Shoemaker each played well defensively for the Garnets.
The Garnet record is now 10-1. Watch the replay. Rye will travel to take on Somers, the second ranked team in Section 1 Thursday night at 6:30pm.
