The Rye Boys Golf Team picked up another win on Tuesday, April 29, taking down Eastchester 196-217. The Garnets went on the road to Leewood Golf Club and won comfortably thanks to two medalist performances from Lawton Wydra and Rocco DeFife.
Wydra and DeFife both shot an impressive 37 on the match, leading the way for Head Coach Pat Romano. The freshmen duo stepped up for their first medals of the year.
“The greens were tough and the Leewood course was playing hard in general,” Romano told MyRye.com. “The team shot good scores despite the challenges.”
Rye (6-1-1) is right back on track with the win after a very close loss in their last match against Scarsdale. They will look to stay near the top of league standings in their next contest, a home one today, Wednesday 4/30, against the Pelham Pelicans at 3:20pm.
