Boys Varsity Hockey Takes the Stripes Off the Mamaroneck Tigers

Rye Boys Varsity Hockey took the stripes off the Mamaroneck Tigers on Wednesday with a commanding 9-1 victory.

“Henry Bagley with a hat trick and Ivan Vasyuta with two goals and two assists drove the offensive attack for us tonight and we never looked back,” said Rye Boys Varsity Hockey Coach Peter Thomas.

It was a total team effort. In addition to Bagley and Vasyuta, Jackson Leahy, Nathan Tietjen, Tommy Richardson, and Dempsey Brown each had a goal while Seth Dorfman and Tommy Broderick each had two assist and Liam Draddy, Bryan Thomas, Will Weinman, and Jamie Showers each added an assist. In net, Brandon Morgan played two shutout periods and Fernando Mosquera made 8 saves on 9 shots in the 3rd period.

Rye has a 5-0 overall record and is 3-0 in the league. The Garnets play Beekmantown at Stafford Arena Saturday at 3pm.
