Boys Varsity Tennis Puts the Huskies on a Leash
Rye Boys Varsity Tennis put the Harrison Huskies on a leash, winning at home 6-1.
“Rye was dominant across the board, beating Harrison 6-1,” said Rye Boys Varsity Tennis Coach Sue Dickson. “Although Nicolas Echlov fell to 2022 NY State doubles champion Michael Griff, all other singles players, Matthew Templeman, Alex Gordon, and Lou Kim-Reuter all dominated their opponents.”
First doubles team Henry Paul and Ty Bibas won 7-5, 6-0. Second doubles Cian Keegan and Henry Bagley soundly beat their competition 6-1,6-2, and third doubles Gunnar Wey and Jiawen Hao won 6-1, 6-3.
“It’s always a good day to have a win over the cross town rivals with the support of a cadre of friends and family; even Dr. Byrne!,” said Dickson.
Garnet tennis is 6-1 for the season, and sits first in the league.
