Rye Boys Varsity Squash MVP: Ben Laschever

MyRye.com is featuring varsity team MVPs from the winter 2022-23 sports season. The MVPs have been selected by each coach. A big MyRye.com congratulations to all the MVPs.

The 2022-23 Rye Boys Varsity Squash MVP is senior Ben Laschever.

Ben Laschever is a senior at Rye High School and co-captain of this year’s Boys Varsity Squash team.

Ben is a key member of the team and someone who “quietly leads by example and competes to the best of his ability in every match,” said Rye Boys Varsity Squash Coach Quan Huynh.

During the 2022-23 season, all of Ben’s matches were competitive and he always rose to the challenge. At this year’s high school nationals, he won three out of his four matches. Quan noted that Laschever is “one of the most coachable players, always open to suggestions and criticisms about his game and committed to improving and getting better every day in practices and matches.”
