Rye Boys Varsity Baseball’s season came to an end Wednesday afternoon in a 2–1 quarterfinal defeat to Fox Lane. The Garnets couldn’t solve the Foxes’ stellar pitching and fell by a run.

“In the quarterfinals, we just came up short,” said Rye Boys Varsity Baseball Coach Mike Bruno. “Hats off to Fox Lane, they pitched an outstanding game. Senior Captain Tyler Winderman was fantastic giving up only 1 earned run in the 2-1 loss.”

Down 2–0, Tyler Canna drove in Rye’s lone run on an RBI double to cut the deficit to 2–1. Charlie Rupp and Winderman each tallied a base hit in the game, as well.

“The seniors gave it their all this year and should be proud of a league championship and a 14 win season,” Bruno said.

Rye finishes the season with a 14–7–1 record.
