Sportsmanship Highlighted at Rye Rotary Luncheon
The Rye Rotary held its annual sportsman’s luncheon at The Rye Golf Club on Friday, April 21st. Each year a member of the Harrison and Rye High School are honored for the best representing true sportsmanship in their school athletics. The Rye Rotary presents a plaque and treats the student athletes and their parent(s) to lunch at Whitby Castle. The individuals are not chosen by their own teammates but the opposing team and coach.
Robert Townsend from the Rye Garnets football team was the player selected by the Harrison players and coaches. Nicholas Reed, a Harrison Husky player, was chosen by Coach Dino Garr and the Rye football team.
