Mallick F. Conover was born in New York in 1923. He had two brothers, Quentin and John, and two sisters, Mary and Elizabeth. Their family resided at 11 Eleanor Street in Rye and were affiliated with the Church of the Resurrection.

During World War II, Mallick enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Europe. He achieved the rank of corporal and received two service medals, namely the Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
On April 6, 1947, Mallick married Dorothy Erickion at the Ressurection Church in Rye. Together, they had three children.
Mallick pursued a career as a waiter and maitre d’ in various local restaurants, including the former Washington Arms in Mamaroneck and the former Cherry Lodge in Harrison. He retired in the mid-1970s. Additionally, Mallick was an active member of the Harrison chapter of the Knights of Columbus.
Mallick F. Conover passed away on April 9, 1986, from cancer at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. He had been a lifelong resident of the Rye-Harrison area and was 62 years old at the time of his death.
At the time of his passing, Mallick was survived by two daughters: Carole Consigliere of Port Chester and Susan Conover of the Bronx; his son, James, residing in Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Mary Nordmann and Elizabeth Savage, both residing in Rye; two brothers, John living in Key Biscayne, Fla., and Quentin residing in Baltimore; as well as two grandchildren. His wife had previously passed away in August 1975.
