Girls Varsity Soccer Clawed by Albertus Magnus Falcons
Rye Girls Varsity Soccer was clawed by the Albertus Magnus Falcons on Tuesday, with the Falcons flying away with a 1 – 0 win at their home nest.
“Rye traveled to Albertus Magnus to take on the falcons who had just returned from Tennessee and tied the number one soccer team in the nation who was in a 54 game winning streak,” said Rye Girls Varsity Soccer Rich Savage. “Rye’s team played incredibly well and is looking forward to meeting Magnus during the playoffs.”
Rye started the game with a tremendous amount if energy and defended well. They attacked the Falcons forcing their keeper to make a couple of saves. At the twenty minute mark of the first half, Magnus would find the back of the net. With under two minutes left in the half, Rye’s keeper made an incredible diving save to keep the score at 1-0 at halftime.
Both teams battled hard and Tessa came up with three other incredible saves to keep the match at 1-0. Varsity travels to Pelham on Friday for a 5:00pm game.
