Girls Varsity Soccer Stalks the Panthers of Ardsley
Rye Girls Varsity Soccer stalked the Panthers of Ardsley on Monday, blanking the cats 5 -0 at the away game.
“Rye traveled to Ardsley to play in a league contest,” said Rye Girls Varsity Soccer Coach Rioch Savage. “Rye was playing on a wet grass field and it took some time for the team to adjust to the pace of play. Once settled down, Rye started to move the ball quickly and created many scoring opportunities.”
Mali White opened up the scoring for Rye on a perfect pass from Lyla Keenan. Ten minutes later, Maddy Walsh would beat two of Ardsley’s defenders and dish the ball off to Lyla Keenan. Lyla took one quick touch and connected with a perfect upper 90 shot.

The start of the second half was much better for Rye. The team came out strong, moving the ball quickly around the field. After 7 consecutive passes, Mali White would find the back of the net for Rye again, just 5 minutes into the second half. Rye’s Maddy Walsh set up Bowyn Brown just two minutes later for Rye’s fourth goal. Phoebe Lee assisted Paige Vanneck on Rye’s final goal of the game.
