Latimer Shows Fundraising Chops in NY-16 Race
Last Federal Election Commission (FEC) deadline on January 31st, it was a horse race – already a positive sign for any challenger to an incumbent. As of midnight Monday – the most recent FEC filing deadline – Rye guy and Westchester County Executive George Latimer is giving sitting Democratic Congressman Jamaal Bowman a proverbial run for his money in the Congressional NY-16 Democratic primary.
- Latimer has raised $3.7 million to date versus $2.7 million for Bowman
- In the first quarter 2024 period, Latimer’s fundraising accelerated to $2.2 million versus $1.3 million for Bowman
- Bowman has been spending faster than Bowman with less money in the bank. Latimer has $3 million in the bank – twice the dry powder that of Bowman.
The Democratic primary for NY-16 is on Tuesday, June, 25, 2024. The next FEC filing deadline is 12 days prior to the June 25th primary vote.
