House Speaker Mike Johnson @ Forest Avenue GOP Fundraiser

He is from Shreveport, Louisiana but in June he was at the home of Julie and Gary Killian on Forest Avenue. US House Speaker Mike Johnson was the headliner at a fundraiser for Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17), hosted by the Killians. Lawler is facing a tight race against Democrat Mondaire Jones this fall.

Julie Killian ran for Lieutenant Governor in 2018 and has served in Rye City Council. She was a co-founder of RyeACT. Gary Killian is a former managing director at Lehman Brothers. 

The event was on Saturday, June 22nd when Speaker Johnson did a round of area events supporting Lawler’s re-election bid. In the post on X (fka Twitter) on June 24th, Lawler posted a photo of the Killian fundraiser. Local Rye GOP lead Katie Manager, who ran for Westchester County Legislator last fall against Catherine Parker, can be seen front and center in the photo, as well as Susan Watson, who was a candidate for City Council in 2017.
