For the game preview, we turn to the Steve “The OG” Feeney, the voice of Garnet football:
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 — RYE @ NYACK — 6:00PM
Continuing the Rockland portion of the 2024 season, the Garnet & Black cross the Tappan Zee Bridge to visit the Nyack Red Hawks (F/K/A the Nyack Indians). Notice that the Red Hawks sport the same school colors as Rye – red, black and white. Teepee tales tell us that many moons ago the Nyack Indians fearfully populated Rye’s schedules annually, leading to a rivalry record of 16-5-0 (.762) in favor of Rye. More recently, the 2024 contest will be the fifth time played in the last four moons.
Using those last five encounters makes prognosticating this week’s game as easy as crossing the Tappan Zee Bridge at rush hour.
