Rex M. Babbitt was born on October 11th, 1918, in Detroit to parents Reginold and Helen Eisenberg Babbitt. He moved to Rye in 1941 and married his wife, Meri Gedney, a year later on August 1st, 1942.

Babbitt served as a sergeant in the army from 1942 to 1945 and was awarded the American Theater Ribbon and the Bronze Star for his exceptional service.
Babitt worked as a kitchen designer at Garth Custom Kitchens Inc. in Scarsdale. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in White Plains. Babbitt passed away on Sunday, December 1st at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick, New York after a brief illness. More on Babbit.
