The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) has added a local resident as a trustee. The 23 acre JHC is the childhood home of Founding Father John Jay.

Rye resident Nate Bagnaschi joins the JHC Board of Trustees. Bagnaschi lives in Rye with his wife, two children and their Labrador Retriever Bailey. The family moved to Rye in 2020 from Manhattan, where he lived for 14 years. Professionally, Bagnaschi is a managing director at Starwood Capital Group.

“Nate’s enthusiasm for history combined with his finance and real estate expertise will be invaluable as we enter a pivotal capital improvement phase with major upgrades to the Jay Mansion and the Wachenheim Center,” said JHC in a statement. “Like many of our trustees, he is committed to expanding our capacity as a community resource.”

In 2022, the JHC Center received $1.5 million to open the Sue and Edgar Wachenheim III Exhibit and Performance Center at the Jay Estate. And this past summer they received $500K for renovations at the Jay mansion.

About Bagnaschi

Originally from Carlisle, Massachusetts, Bagnaschi attended Concord Carlisle High School, he spent time volunteering for Gaining Ground, a nonprofit organic farm that grows produce sustainably for local meal programs and food pantries. During his time there, Nate spent time tending the garden at the Old Manse, one of the historical homes of Ralph Waldo Emerson, a short walk from the historic Old North Bridge.

Nate received a B.A. in International Relations, with minors in economics and Hispanic studies, from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005. He is currently a Managing Director in the Capital Markets Group at Starwood Capital Group, a global real estate private equity firm. In this role, he is responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of asset-level and fund/corporate-level financing activity for Starwood’s investments in the Americas.
