The city council’s agenda for its meeting at 6:30pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 is out. The Council will convene at 5:30 p.m. and adjourn into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters and litigation. The meeting will also be aired on Cablevision Channel 75 and Verizon Channel 39. Formal office hours of the Mayor and other officials have been suspended.

• Civil and Right. Honoring Paul Redd.
• Haz-Matters. Consideration of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit a letter of intent for the City of Rye to participate in the update to the 2026 Westchester County Multi- Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.
• Must be Part of the Comprehensive Plan… Mayor presents John Carey Award to Nicholas Everett and Alan Weil.
• Painting a Picture (read Expansion Plan Detailed by Rye Arts Center Head Levi). Consideration of a petition from Rye Arts Center, Inc. to amend the text of the Rye City Zoning Code to permit “Arts Center Use” as a new use permitted subject to additional standards and requirements in the R-1 to RT Residence Districts.
• The Full 311. Public Hearing to amend the City Charter Section C23-1. “Liability in certain actions” to exclude electronic notification through email or the City website as constituting prior written notice.
• $1.25. Consideration of a resolution amending the 2025 hourly parking fee in the City of Rye.
• No Deal. Reject bids for the DPW Administrative Office Building Project (Contract # 2024- 10).

• Book It. a) Consideration of a request from the Rye Free Reading Room to use the Village Green for the Library’s annual book sale from Friday, September 12, 2025, to Monday, September 15, 2025, and to host a food truck on Friday, September 12, 2025.
• Need to Read More. b) Consideration of a request from the Rye Free Reading Room to use the Village Green for a variety of summer programs from June 1, 2025, to October 1, 2025, between 9:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
