Girls Basketball Completes Perfect Non-League Slate with Big Win vs Westlake
The Rye Girls Basketball Team ended their non-league “preseason” with a bang on Saturday morning, dominating the Westlake Wildcats 58-21 on home soil. The Garnets only allowed nine points in the final two quarters, using a dominant third to pull ahead.
Paige Tepedino paced the Garnets with 17 points, followed by Molly Kennedy (11 points). Other depth contributions came from Stella Maresca with eight and Annie Toulouse with seven points apiece.
Non-league games are over for Rye, who have two league contests on their schedule this coming week. First up is a trip to Byram Hills on Tuesday, January 14, for a 4:30pm tipoff against the Bobcats. The Garnets also host Eastchester on Thursday the 16th in their league home opener vs Eastchester (5:00pm start). The team enters league play at a perfect 9-0.
