In the last one week, the two Rye residents running a local fundraising campaign to send supplies to those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires have raised $12,000+ in donations. The fundraising campaign will end on Monday at midnight. The two organizers, Kelly Jancski and Laura Pellegrini, will place final funds on Home Depot gift cards to be shipped to Hollywood American Legion Post 43 for distribution to those in need. Rye American Legion Post 128, via Commander Fred DeBarros, donated $500 on Monday.

Thank you for the overwhelming response from the rye community without which this grassroots fundraiser would not have been possible,” said Jancski.

As of Monday, items ordered and shipped so far included 80 crock pots, 10 air fryers, 20 coffee pots, 110 can openers and 2,000 pounds of pet food. Donate to the effort through midnight on Monday, January 20, 2025 here: Venmo @Laura-Pellegrini-3
